Successful Family Discipleship Conference

We thank God for the over 5.7 million people reached online, and about 2,000 in person attendees impacted during the Family Discipleship Conference (FDC) 2025 took place at CITAM Valley Road from 26th – 30th August under the theme “Unmasked.” This bi-annual gathering brought families together for a time of learning, healing, and reconnection through powerful sessions and practical workshops.   The theme was explored through a wide range of topics delivered by distinguished speakers. The Presiding Bishop, Rev. Calisto Odede, spoke on Family in a Broken World. Dr. Shodankeh Johnson unpacked God’s Design for the Family and unveiled the Enemy’s Agenda Against Families. Bishop Dr. Gibson Anduvate shared on When the Foundations Are Shaken, Rev. Grace Bukachi reminded us of the importance of Rebuilding Family Altars, while Ernest Wamboye tackled The Battle of the Sexes. Dr. Emily Obwaka ministered on Healing Wounds, and Rev. Tom Otieno closed the week with Firewalling the Family and Marriages.   One of the key lessons emphasized was that discipleship is not a program but an intentional, Spirit-led lifestyle. Noting, that God never asks of us what He has not already provided that this reinforces the idea that the grace to pray, heal and rebuild family altars is already availed.   In addition to the main sessions, workshops addressed critical family and societal issues such as Gen Z and marriage, caregiving and grief, financial management, and inheritance, just to name a few. This ensured that every family member found relevant and practical support. Vendors in attendance offered study materials, merchandise, food, ornaments, financial services, and more ensuring that every break was resourceful, vibrant, and full of activity.   The conference also drew several dignitaries, including Kenya’s Second Lady, Joyce Gatiiria Njagi. International CITAM assemblies were also represented, including CITAM USA, Tanzania, and Namibia. Notably, all the mission stations in Northern Kenya were also in attendance.   A heartfelt appreciation goes out to all who invested in this vision of family restoration. The sacrifices of time, resources, and commitment made this gathering possible and impactful. The call remains clear: to rebuild both family and personal altars, ensuring that homes are centred on God’s Word and guided by His Spirit.

Empowering the Next Generation

At CITAM, the youth are not an afterthought they are at the center of the church’s vision for the future. Recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities that come with this generation, the Youth and Teens Ministry is investing in meaningful discipleship, creative engagement, and authentic relationships that help young people build lasting faith foundations. Weekly youth services across various branches combine vibrant worship, relatable sermons, and small group discussions that create a space for openness and growth. Topics like identity, purpose, peer pressure, and faith in the digital age are tackled head-on, offering a Biblical worldview without avoiding the realities young people face. Through this, youth are not only being discipled they are being empowered to disciple others. The ministry’s flagship events, such as the “IGNITE” youth camp, attract hundreds of teenagers and young adults from across the country. These camps are more than just a time away; they are spiritually formative experiences filled with worship, learning, outdoor activities, and moments of deep reflection. Many participants return home with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to God. In addition to regular programs, mentorship plays a significant role. Youth are connected with trusted adults and older peers who walk with them through life’s complexities. This relational model of discipleship ensures that no one walks alone and that spiritual growth is not confined to Sundays. It also helps youth feel heard, valued, and supported critical elements in this phase of life. The church also actively encourages youth to serve in music, media, ushering, outreach, and even tech turning passive participation into active ownership of their faith and gifts. These responsibilities instill leadership, discipline, and accountability, shaping future spiritual and civic leaders. Through CITAM’s investment in its youth, the church is building a generation that is bold in faith, grounded in truth, and unafraid to take Christ into their schools, workplaces, and nations. It is a ministry not just preserving faith but launching it into the future with confidence.

Digital Discipleship

In a world increasingly shaped by digital technology, CITAM has embraced innovation to reach people wherever they are on screens, in homes, and across continents. The church’s digital ministry, which includes Hope FM, Hope TV, livestreamed services, podcasts, and social media content, is transforming how people engage with the Gospel. What began as a necessity during the COVID-19 lockdowns has grown into a thriving arm of ministry. Today, thousands tune in every week for online services, participate in virtual Bible studies, and engage in Q&A sessions with pastors on social media. The digital space has become a new kind of sanctuary, especially for people in remote areas, members living abroad, and those who are exploring faith discreetly. Hope TV and Hope FM continue to broadcast uplifting music, Biblical teaching, and real-life conversations that inspire and challenge. From devotionals to talk shows, the content is curated to meet people in their everyday struggles and offer hope that is rooted in God’s Word. These platforms aren’t just broadcasting they’re connecting. Interactive elements such as live chats during sermons, online prayer request forms, and virtual small groups allow users to be more than passive viewers. They become part of a global family commenting, asking questions, and even volunteering as digital ushers or content creators. The church has embraced this reality: ministry isn’t bound by geography anymore. CITAM is also investing in training digital disciples equipping members to share content, lead online groups, and evangelize through their own platforms. This decentralization of ministry means that the average believer now has tools to impact others right from their smartphone or laptop. Digital discipleship is no longer optional it is essential. As CITAM continues to innovate and expand in this space, one thing remains the same: the Gospel message. Whether through a screen or a sermon, the goal is to bring people closer to Christ and through digital means, that mission is reaching farther than ever before.
