CITAM Woodley @30

The Sunday of 13th October 2024 will remain etched in the hearts of CITAM Woodley’s congregants, led by Rev. Juliet Mahugu ( The Senior Pastor), when they celebrated the 30th anniversary since the establishment of the assembly. The occasion, which was graced by Rev. Calisto Odede, the Presiding Bishop among key leaders of CITAM including the members of Council of Elders and the Deacon Board, was momentous in reminiscing how the epic journey had been. CITAM Woodley was planted because Valley Road assembly had become quite crowded then and the leadership felt the need to establish another assembly in the city to manage the congregation. NPC (as was named then) was mandated to open 15 branches in an AGM held on June 28th 1993. In that meeting, NPC Valley Road would be known as NPC Central and other branches to be opened would adopt compass directions of the city i.e. NPC West, NPC East, NPC South etc. with Woodley named NPC West. Pastor Fred Kilonzo was appointed as the first Senior Pastor of NPC West on May 22nd, 1994, and with about 100-150 members, the assembly began. Today the assembly has about 3,000 congregants. Going forward, CITAM Woodley is looking at growing more by reaching out to the growing neighborhood around Woodley, Jamhuri, Kilimani, Ngong Road, and Lavington. Congratulations CITAM Woodley.

Lord, Send Me 2024 Conference

We held a successful “Send Me” 2024 Missions’ Conference, organized by CITAM and her partners/ collaborators at CITAM Karen from 3rd to 6th September 2024. This was an attempt to bridge the gap in terms of challenging both the Church in Kenya and para-church organizations (ministries) to take seriously the aspect of missions’ mobilization as well as missionary sending across the globe. The conference was drawn from Isaiah 6:8 and correctly titled, “Lord, Send Me”. Plenary speakers were Bishop Calisto Odede, Dr Julisa Rowe, Rev Dr Stephen Mbogo, Rev Kwame Rubadiri, Rev Dr Sam Owusu, Dr Florence Muindi, Brother A. Walalo  and Pastor Simon Kande. Besides we had many workshops and exhibitions where the delegates had to time to engage with specific missions organizations. The planning committee which comprised of staff was led by Rev. Elias Githuka ( Head of Missions) and Rev. Kwame Rubadiri( Head of CED and Digital Ministry). The conference targeted people beyond CITAM who came from other churches. We also invited other partners to collaborate with us. They included The Co-operative Bank, MAF, African Ministries Diaspora, ICC, CRU, Pioneers Africa, Life Challenge, FOCUS Kenya, Creating Understanding International, Alpha, #NoPlaceLeft Live among others. We pray and desire to see as many that attended and made a commitment to engage in God’s mission all over the world being used of God wherever God will lead them. The Missions department has put plans for intensive follow up.
